Once a season, our community decides where we should serve free tea. Votes are collected via email and Instagram and then we randomly select one from the submissions.

This perk serves as a way to encourage community participation, explore the diverse neighborhoods of New York, and serve free tea all around the city.

Town Halls are virtual livestream sessions where we share seasonal reflections and open the floor for Q&A. We host a Town Hall every solstice & equinox (4x per year).

During Town Halls, we highlight recent events & collaborators, practice financial transparency, and set intentions for the upcoming season.

If you have questions about our programming, philosophies, and/or membership program, this is a great place to ask away!

On every solstice & equinox (4x per year), you'll receive a Tea Box delivered to your door.

Each Tea Box contains:

• 6 bags of seasonally curated, loose leaf tea (3 unique teas, 2 bags each)
• Postcard illustrated by a local artist
• Info sheet with tea brewing suggestions & ingredients

If you live in North Brooklyn, we'll deliver your Tea Box via bike. Otherwise, we'll ship it via USPS. Deliveries will arrive within one week of the solstice/equinox unless otherwise noted.

bōcha is a biannual zine published by The Tea Stand and delivered to Steepers on the solstices. Each issue serves to introduce folks to our work & celebrate the local artists in our community.

While each issue is different, you can generally expect to find writing about our philosophy & practice, fun illustrations & visualizations, and plenty of local resource sharing.

Attend small-group, educational tea ceremonies led by local tea practitioner Tim Chacko once a year. Ceremonies take place virtually and in-person.

During the tea ceremony, you'll be invited to bring your own teaware and learn how to brew tea gongfu style, a Chinese method with a focus on skill, ritual, and mindfulness. But you can also just show up and enjoy some tea!

Each tea ceremony features 3 different teas and is about 90 minutes in duration.

Note: to partake in a given year's tea ceremony, you must become a member by August 8 of that year. Members will receive an email with scheduling details in early August.

Receive a hand-embroidered tea towel with custom Tea Stand designs. The towel is 22cm x 22cm, made of linen, and comes in both green and brown — the choice is yours!

For any Ambient Church event, you can enter into a random drawing (of other Big/Mega Steepers) to win 2 free tickets to the show. Winners are selected and notified one week prior to the event; requests must be submitted a week in advance of the event.

Ambient Church hosts deep listening experiences in churches with site-specific light projections. Past performers include Laraaji & Ana Roxanne.

Receive free entry to Open Hours, a weekly event series hosted by Future Space, a community art space in Ridgewood, Queens. Limited to one free entry per month.

More about Open Hours: "Open Hours is a chance to create a new way of being out, of engaging with community, of making the best use of our space. Enjoy music and live performances by local artists while working on your creative projects, trying out a new medium, enjoying guided or free movement, and more. Each open hours will be a little different, with potential to be exactly what you make of it. Help us shape this together."

An artisanal "easy gaiwan" teapot made by local ceramicist Lilian Wu, designed with The Tea Stand in mind. You'll receive your teapot approximately 3 months after becoming a Mega Steeper.

These teapots are perfect for beginners & experienced tea brewers alike. Their unique design offers a pouring experience which is comfortable even for heat-sensitive folks.

Each teapot is one-of-a-kind but share the same shape, colorway, and general design.

Every year, around the winter solstice, you'll receive a locally made tea accessory, like a pair of ceramic tea cups or a glass fairness pitcher.

Each tea accessory will build toward a bespoke, cohesive tea set :)

Note: to receive the given year's teaware, you must become a member by August 8 of that year. Previous years' teaware is not available retroactively.
