🥬 Distros

Free tea at resource distributions!

When we serve free tea at resource (e.g. food, clothing) distributions, we call them Distros.

Typically, we offer free tea to folks while they wait in line for the resource distribution to begin. For example, people will begin to line-up for a food distribution an hour before it starts, often waiting alone in the cold. A cup of free tea & neighborly love goes a long way in these conditions!

We're committed to serving free tea at the food & clothing distribution every second Saturday of the month organized by Riders4Rights, a Black-led mutual aid group based in BedStuy.

We serve free tea at these resource distributions to meet more of our neighbors and add dignity & warmth to an experience which can be uncomfortable & sensitive for folks.

Distros are also an opportunity to partner with & support local mutual aid groups. In the past, we've collaborated with Collective Focus, Club A, BK Jail Support, and more. Email us here if you'd like us to serve at a distribution you're involved with!

Our motto, "free tea for all," means that we are here to serve the people, especially those whom our society has failed in so many ways.
